Bismillaahi`r-Rahmaani`r-Raheem

Alhamdulillaah, wa`s-salaatu wa`s-salaamu ‘alaa rasoolillaah, wa ba’ad:

Lesson 007

(Baabu`l-Aaneeyah)

[Animal Skin/Leather]

[18/06/2008]

  • Utensils of Gold and Silver

The Dhaahireeyyah, Ibn ‘Abdu`l-Barr, an-Nawaawee, ibn Qudaamah, rahimahumAllaah, they all said that the opinion that the utensils of gold and silver may not be used for anything (including doing wudoo’ etc.) was the majority opinion, and some of them (such as Ibn ‘Abdu`l-Barr) said it is based on Ijmaa’ before another scholar came and differed with them (Dawood – ?).

Thus, perhaps it is safer to follow the opinion that it is not permissible to use utensils of gold and silver for anything. Allaah knows best.

If the utensils are plated with gold and silver, then they take the same ruling as that of utensils made of gold and silver, unless they are soldered due to a need.

Bismillaahi`r-Rahmaani`r-Raheem

A New Chapter …

Alhamdulillaah. Upon the completion of Kitaabu`l-Hajj (Pilgrimage) on Wednesday 2nd of February, Ustaadh Fraz Farhat will now begin teaching Kitaabu`n-Nikaah (Marriage), inshaa`Allaah, commencing on the 9th of February at 8PM (next week).

Kitaabu`l-Buyoo’ (Business Transactions) will be postponed until (most likely) next year due to the vastness of the topic compared to Kitaabu`n-Nikaah.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the course. Ustaadh Fraz delivers the lessons in such a way that it is easy for anyone and everyone to understand, all the while maintaining the richness of the topic at hand.

For details of the venue click here.

… Also there are opportunities for asking questions relating to the topic at the end of each session.

Please pass on the message !

wa`s-salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaah

I begin with the Name of Allaah, the most Merciful, the One Who bestows Mercy

All praises and thanks belong to Allaah, and may the blessings and peace of Allaah be upon His Messenger. To proceed:

Lesson 006

(Baabu`l-Aaneeyah)

[Utensils]

[11.06.2008]

The majority of the scholars considered human blood to be Najas, and a minority amongst the scholars considered human blood to be taahir (with the exception of menstrual blood).

Say (O Muhammad): “I find not in that which has been inspired to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be Maytatah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork, etc.) for that surely is impure, or impious (unlawful) meat (of an animal) which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allâh (or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., or on which Allâh’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering). But whosoever is forced by necessity without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, (for him) certainly, your Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
[Soorat al-An’aam (006:145)]

Does this blood not tell us that flowing blood is haraam and impure?

Verily, all praise and thanks are due to Allaah, and may the Salaah and Salaam of Allaah be upon His Messenger. To proceed:

Lesson 001

[Knowledge, Author’s Biography and Introduction]

[7 May 2008]
  • Prerequisites to Seeking Knowledge

If you travel from somewhere far, it feels as if you have lost that time. In reality, if a person is sincere, then even something mundane as coming to a talk, or driving a car can be a means of earning reward with Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’ala.

The Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “Whoever goes down a path searching for Knowledge, Allah (swt) will make it easy for him the road to Paradise”.
[Muslim]

So one has to check their intention; thus thinking that it is not a waste of time to travel to talks, but a means of earning reward with Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’ala with sincerity.
